Teaching Philosophy
I believe art education should be inclusive, accessible, and empowering for every student. My teaching is grounded in the idea that all learners—regardless of background, ability, or prior experience—deserve a space where they feel valued, respected, and capable of creative expression.
In my classroom, art is both a means of communication and a tool for connection. I strive to create an environment where students are encouraged to explore their identities, perspectives, and ideas through making, reflection, and dialogue. I emphasize multiple ways of learning and expressing understanding, recognizing that creativity looks different for each individual.
I view my role as a facilitator and collaborator, guiding students through processes that foster curiosity, confidence, and critical thinking. By integrating inclusive practices, open-ended projects, and culturally responsive materials,
Ultimately, my goal is for students to see themselves as artists and creative thinkers, capable of using art to understand the world around them and to contribute their unique voices to it.

Post primary school
In my classroom I teach a mixture of art craft and design through various themes such as identity, sustainable development goals, obscure surroundings, and many more. I have taught students from 1st year to 6th years and have done both collaborative and individual projects
I have taught in three post primary schools during my school placement blocks my most recent being St Marys College Naas, an all girls CEIST school, Pipers Hill College Naas a DEIS school and Old Bawn Tallaght a community school.
