Focusing on bodily details deemed 'imperfect' by society, I have made a series of prints on details such as cellulite, wrinkles, venation, stretch marks and hair. The aim of this series is to inspire other peoples journeys of self love.
To achieve this, I have created photo etching, and intaglio prints of body details such as cellulite, fat, extra skin etc. I will focus on the textures of skin etc by using a variety of mixed medias such as print, textiles, paint, photography and audio.
By taking these textures off the body and displaying them in an art form I hope to make the point that these textures and patterns that make up our bodies are in fact beautiful. The only reason we are told the opposite is due to societal beauty standards and products that feed information on removing this details.
